Doing Things Differently

I fell asleep shortly after posting last night, only to have a few nightmares and then to have one of my worst fears come true… an earwig decided it wanted to wander into my ear.

Now, some of you may not know, but I am completely terrified of insects. I mean I am literally terrified to death of insects.  To have one in the same room as me makes my skin tingle, and to have one on me is a truly terrifying experience.  But to have one physically enter my body, I can’t begin to tell you how horrible of an experience that is.

I immediately got the earwig out of my ear and then went and boiled my skin in the shower.  Even after being in the shower for an hour, I still feel like crap.  It doesn’t help that the time difference of 3 hours is working against me and my body wanted to be up at 6AM EDT and it’s only 3AM PDT.

That means I am up 4 Hours way to early, showered and feeling disgusting in a remote place in California with nowhere to go.  So, naturally, that means I am sitting in the hotel lobby, with my laptop on my lap, watching shows on Hulu.

After 2 episodes of The Simpsons and an Episode and a half of The Office, my laptop has gotten a tad warm.  By that I mean the laptop has burned a nice little mark onto my leg.

So, 2.5 Hours down and 1.5 hours left. I need to find something to do before I go completely insane, and Hulu isn’t really helping.

If anyone has any suggestions, please text my cell. I have it on me, and I’m not working for another hour and a half.

If you just read my first California Post (California Dreamin’), then you might have noticed the formatting was different.The reason?  I decided I would see how Google Chrome would work with Wordpress.  The verdict? It hates my spacing using Enter. Oh well. I’ll give a review of the different browsers by the end of September, so check back for that post. 

Our team arrived in California a few hours ago, and we had no issues getting here at all. I mean absolutely none.When we arrived at the site, we met up with the staff on site who will be hosting our event.  All of the staff were put to work except for the 3 key players - Myself, My Boss, and His Boss (our General Manager).  We had a Pre-Conference meeting with the Hotel staff and our AV provider to discuss what needed to be prepared before our guests arrived. I was included in this meeting since I will be in charge of all things Technical, and will be working directly with some of the on-site staff.After the meeting we all met up again and went for a nice steak dinner and then all headed back to our rooms for the night since we all had little sleep.Unfortunately, since I am in charge of Tech, I will be the first person to arrive at work at 7am, with my General Manager following up at 7:30am, and the rest of the staff coming in around 8-9 am. I’m going to continuosly update during the week as to how things are going, so please feel free to check back every once and a while.
